Who knew getting organized could be this exciting?!
I enjoy diving deep into a good book, watching movies for the popcorn, and swirled peanut butter in ice cream.
I love the adventure and excitement of mountain biking, a good DIY project, and breathing and teaching geology.

– Arthur Clarke
I love this quote. When I was around 12, my dad brought home an (original) Apple computer and code book. I got to “practice” coding by making a basic Pong-like game, and building text and tables in different colors. I think that simple, early exposure gave me the confidence to work well with computers and programs throughout my professional careers. Not only do I (mostly) enjoy technology and (almost always) creating with online tools, I know that when a program won’t do what you are “telling” it to do, there is usually more than one back door to get what you want.
At 25, I started my first business, “The Printing Oasis”. It was a printing brokerage, and my answer to staying at home with our first born child, while still helping to pay the mortgage in very expensive California. I sold this business when we later moved out of state due to my husband’s job, and loved being a very busy stay-work-play-volunteer-at-home mom for the next ten years. My husband and I will soon be celebrating 30 years of marriage, and we have 3 beautiful (inside & out), grown daughters.
A few of my most notable titles over the years (outside family, which I cherish) have been/are Business Owner, Soccer Coach, Girl Scout Troop Leader/Cookie Mom/Everything, Office Manager, Oblate of Saint Benedict, Director of Advancement, Web Developer, Middle School Volleyball Coach, Social Media Manager, and Founder of this TOP site. Life is full of opportunities. Some lasted a brief time, and others a lifetime…all have made some kind of impact upon me, my life, and the lives of those I love.
At the risk of sounding like I’m bragging (or confessing a hoarding problem!), my home library currently consists of more than 450 physical books (on faith, family, personal growth, organizing, entrepreneurship, thrillers, health…). Myriad ebooks, and saved articles, videos, courses and files, continue to testify to my love of lifelong learning. Until the day I die, there will always be something more to learn. Though, who know what I’ll learn after that!
I’m sure you’ve heard this before, and it’s true. You are unique, and that you even exist is a miracle. There has never been, or will ever be, another You, let alone a “you” living the circumstances of your life. So, while it’s important to gather valuable information, seek out great advice, and strive to always grow and learn…you should never let someone stuff you into a one-size-fits all mold or model. Personalities matter. Work styles matter. Life experiences ALL matter. Let’s get your work spaces, your time management, and the rest of your life aligned with who you are, what you do, and where you want to go. It’s an exciting journey – thank you for allowing me to join you!

“It’s about you and your relationship to yourself and your family and your friends. Being perfect is about being able to look your friends in the eye and know that you didn’t let them down, because you told them the truth. And that truth is that you did everything that you could. There wasn’t one more thing that you could have done. Can you live in that moment, as best you can, with clear eyes and love in your heart? With joy in your heart? If you can do that gentlemen, then you’re perfect.” – Coach Gary Gaines, Friday Night Lights
Those words are a reflection of everything I believe and practice. I try to be “perfect” every day. Which has been a challenging, but rewarding journey that has taught me a lot about who I am, who other people are, and how beautiful it is to be a human being. I have learned from my mistakes, studied the success of others, and applied systematic approaches to find how to become “perfect”.
What I have learned has been humbling, encouraging, surprising and fun and I would love to share what I have learned with you. I have received so much kindness and generosity throughout my life, and now I am able to share my story and offer you something that will hopefully inspire happiness, love and friendship.
I like to consider myself the Energizer Bunny of the group. My personality tests show that I have a knack for making goals, setting a pace, and keeping at it. “Toughen up princess” is used in my everyday vocabulary to myself, and going to bed knowing I have given my best is the only way I know.
From a collection of experiences and stories, I hope to give you insight on how to become the most organized, down-to-earth, mind-blowing professional that will rock the workplace and still have enough time and energy to celebrate what life is all about at the end of the day! Whether you feel organized now, or feel like your life is falling apart at the seams, I have been there and I am confident that my eclectic collection of experiences will give you a different outlook on life.
On the more serious side, a little bit about myself: I received my bachelor’s and master’s degree in geology. In between my studies over the last few years, I have also pursued my interests of running, hiking, camping, educational outreach and teaching. I am now a geology adjunct instructor at a local university, and hope to continue sharing my knowledge and passion of the geosciences for years to come!
